Weekend Wins and Works-in-Progress

This weekend went by way too fast, and I didn’t get nearly as much done as I wanted. I slept in later than I planned, so most of the chores didn’t happen. I got one of the new Blink cameras set up, which felt good, but the other two will have to wait. At least I found a little time to play some games, so it wasn’t a total waste. I just wish I’d done more. Maybe this week will go smoother, and I can squeeze in some time to finish that next chapter of my book.

I also spent some time messing around with the doorbell circuit. It took a bit to figure out which breaker was connected to what, but I’m pretty sure I got it sorted. The doorbell transformer was near the panel, so that made it a little easier. I even dusted off the multimeter to make sure everything was running right.

On the creative side, I had fun coming up with names for the security system. I wanted something with a bit of personality—maybe Thor’s Gaze or Guardian’s Eye. I liked the idea of something meaningful too, like The Watchman or Michael’s Vigil. I even thought about using the Palantíri from Lord of the Rings. They weren’t evil on their own, but in the wrong hands… well, you know.

It wasn’t the most productive couple of days, but I’ll take the small wins where I can. I’ve still got two cameras to set up and a bunch of things to tackle this week, but I’ll get there. Just need to make the time.
